I came back for a second visit to Ascoli Piceno and stayed at this hotel again. The location is fabulous, and both the rooms and staff were terrific. It was an excellent stay.

The spa was a calming place, with lots of options and three different saunas. The herb sauna was our favorite, and we also had a wonderful treatment. Both masseuses were skilled and professional. We spent a weekend here and were enchanted by Ascoli and by how kind the hotel staff were. The hotel restaurant is top notch, reasonably priced, and has a great wine list. Our waitress was charming and knew her stuff; she recommended Veronica, a local pecorino, and it didn’t disappoint. This is the best hotel in one of Italy’s most beautiful towns.

We took a lovely cooking class making olive ascolani with the restaurant. The staff were really helpful, and breakfast was beautiful. The rooms were really nice, too, at this lovely hotel right by downtown.

I’m sorry to leave a negative review, because the staff were lovely and breakfast was nice. But suite number 100 didn’t look like the other photos. It was very spacious, though there was no natural light, and the shower had quite a bit of mould. The spa was disappointing too: the heated pool didn’t look clean, with organic matter visible in the water. Not everything was bad, but I wouldn’t stay in room 100.
