Agriturismo Le Colombe Assisi

The best part for me was the 15 km nature walk from Le Colombe to Assisi. It took me four hours, or allow six if you take it slowly. Bring good walking shoes, since there’s a short trail through the woods. I’ve shared the itinerary and some photos from the route. During our ten days here, we also visited charming towns like Gubbio, Spello, Perugia, Assisi, Passignano on the lake, and Trevi, all about 20-40 minutes away by car. We’d explore one during the day, have lunch there, then return to watch the sunset. Le Colombe was a really relaxing family holiday. The apartment was spacious and clean, surrounded by olive trees and grassy areas, with amazing hill views. The family who run it are friendly, helpful, and speak good English. Dinner is available if you tell them in advance, since they buy everything fresh that day. The food and wine were good and fairly priced, so we ate there often, though there are other restaurants nearby worth trying. There’s a pool and children’s playground, set far enough from the apartments that they stay quiet. Wi-Fi worked consistently, pets are allowed, and there’s an A&O supermarket five minutes away by car.

Marisol, Marino, and Roberto were so lovely. They did everything they could to make us welcome and helped a lot with the wedding preparations. Marisol speaks five languages, so communication was easy. She’s also an excellent cook, and made us fantastic dinners and breakfasts. Le Colombe sits on a hill with a spectacular panoramic view, and the agriturismo is beautifully decorated and well maintained. I stayed there for the four days of my wedding, and I’m very grateful I chose it.

The house was clean and cosy, and the grounds and swimming pool were just as lovely. The hosts were warm, polite, and always helpful. They also run a restaurant where they cook really good meals. A beautiful place with lovely people.

Marino and Marisol are such friendly, kind hosts. Le Colombe has a wonderful view and a kind of magical energy about it. Be sure to try the delicious restaurant.
