Carpediem Assisi Living Club

This was our first time in Italy and our first accommodation, and the stay was fair, but not great. We liked the area and its gorgeous mountain views, though that view wasn’t from our room. Check-in was easy, and the staff were excellent, spoke Italian and English, and tried to help when they could. Grazie mille to them. Our room, FRESIA, looked like the photos. The bed wasn’t comfortable, and the shower was so small my shoulders touched the walls. The sink was huge and right in your face when sitting on the toilet. There was a kitchenette and refrigerator but no microwave. We had a view of the back of the property, a hillside with pretty vegetation, rather than the expansive mountain scenery, villas, and vineyards to the south. There’s no WiFi in the rooms, only in the game room and lobby, so international guests without a good mobile plan should plan for trips back and forth to get connected. For most food, toiletries, and other basics, be ready to drive to Assisi. The grounds are kept clean, but the property itself was just OK, and the website gave a different impression. It promotes a game room, gym, laundry room, tennis court, pool, and beautiful views, but there is no gym. The tennis court and whatever else it was meant to be were rundown and dilapidated. Laundry cost 4 EU to wash and 1.5 EU to dry. We didn’t stay long enough to use it, even though we booked Saturday to Saturday and left Thursday morning. The pool was advertised but closed for the season, and it was in such poor repair that I doubt it could hold water. Part of the property is under construction, though work seemed to have stopped and it wasn’t noisy. I was very disappointed with the amenities. In my view, the property isn’t ready for RCI standards and should be reevaluated or brought up to better standards. Getting there means driving a mountainous road, and the driveway pavement leading to the main rentals is in bad repair. If it snows, conditions will be harsh, so choose your season carefully. Assisi itself is amazing and definitely worth visiting, but I’d say a day or two is enough rather than a week.

The views from the units were lovely, and the staff were friendly. The accommodation was comfortable, about 5 km from Assisi, with a shuttle bus available for getting there.

There was no heating at the end of September, and the rooms had no WiFi. Utilities also cost an extra 50 euro per week.

The view was good, but there was no gym or WiFi.
