Enrico was a wonderful manager, helpful, kind, and full of interesting local knowledge. He and his family made our October stay memorable. The hotel’s location made it easy to get around on foot, with squares, cathedrals, shops, restaurants, and markets nearby. It’s also easy to reach. Our room was bright and spacious, with a high ceiling, direct access to the terrace, and a sparkling clean feel. The top-floor terrace looks out over the valley. Breakfast is served in a pretty room, with something for everyone.

The room keys are proper Victorian-style keys, which was a fun touch. I liked the view from the third-floor balcony, and there’s a friendly cat around the hotel who’s happy to be petted. The hotel has a nice little Italian feel to it. The towels were very thin and purely practical, so I guess softer ones might mean choosing a hotel with more stars. Breakfast was decent, and I was glad orange juice was among the options.

Enrico, the manager, speaks perfect English and is friendly, helpful, and always available. The rooms are quiet at night, clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Some have lovely balconies looking over the valley, so check the website photos and ask for the one you like. Hotel Belvedere is central to Assisi’s key sights, including St Francis Basilica, which makes it a great base for a visit. We’ll stay at this lovely hotel again next time we’re in Assisi.

Enrico, his family, and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. I don’t speak Italian, so I was especially happy that everyone spoke English so well. The hotel itself is beautiful and feels authentic, with lovely marble and stone walls. The wireless worked well too. Hotel Belvedere was a wonderful experience.

The view outside Hotel Belvedere is fantastic, and the hotel and rooms have an enchanting feel. Add the warm welcome and wonderful proprietor, and it’s a special way to enter one of the most magical places, a center of faith and humanity with a profound spiritual feeling.
