The breakfast buffet was delicious, especially the cappuccino, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We also loved how quiet the hotel was. The listing mentioned soundproofing, and we truly heard nothing from the street or other guests. Just around the corner from the duomo, it’s on a peaceful side street. During our week in Florence, the lobby was a welcome calm spot to have a drink or take a breather from the crowds before heading back out. I loved nearly everything and would absolutely stay again.

The hotel bar stood out for its selection of local liqueurs, the kind you wouldn’t find elsewhere. It’s worth trying for that alone. The staff were friendly and professional, too. The location puts most sightseeing spots nearby, while the street itself is quiet. The rooms have a classic Italian feel, with beautiful architecture and history, though they’re somewhat limited. I’d recommend the place to people looking for a central stay and friendly Italian hospitality.

The hotel is centrally located, so we could walk to the museums and around the city, and our room was spacious. The trouble was the valet parking. After the first night, Fireparking returned our car with two damaged rims. We filed a report, but their insurer is refusing to cover the damage, which amounts to 4,000 EUR. I suggest taking pictures both before handing over the car and right after it’s returned. Fireparking still hasn’t sent us any photos, even though they photograph the car each time. The hotel refunded the parking fee and gave us two drinks, but didn’t help us handle the claim. The damage ruined our trip.

We were right in the center, with everything close by. The room was spacious and clean, and staff tidied it every day. Breakfast was generous, and the polite staff were quick to help whenever we needed something.

We came back to Hotel Centrale for two separate weekends in May 2025, and both rooms were spacious, clean, and had modern bathrooms. The included breakfast was nice. There’s also a small lobby bar, with complimentary light snacks on Friday nights and a harpist. It’s quiet and close to the main sights. Of the several Florence hotels we’ve stayed in over the years, this is our favorite, and we’ll return.
