We booked half board and stayed three nights. The suite and single room weren’t so bad, but soap and shampoo were provided for only two people. Breakfast was such a limited selection that I can hardly remember another hotel with so little variety. On the first morning, the three of us got two fried eggs, cold as if from the fridge, plus three pieces of cheese and three of ham. The next day there were no eggs, and only four portions each of cheese and sausage. The third breakfast was worse still. Every morning we had to ask for bread. Dinners were terrible, spaghetti after spaghetti, even soup with noodles, although I’m diabetic and that kind of food is dangerous for me. The clear impression was a lack of regard for clients and a lack of English. They understand only what they want to. I’d never return or recommend it. It spoiled all my memories of Assisi.

The breakfasts had plenty to choose from, both sweet and savory, and the hotel is close to the Franciscan sites. Buses and shuttles serve the area well, and you can buy tickets at reception. We spent three nights at the Donnini with friends. From the warm welcome to the attentive, kind way the staff handled our requests, we felt very well looked after. Our rooms were beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean. We’ll definitely book again when we’re next in Assisi. A big hug to all the staff, and goodbye. With respect and kindness, Manuela Tocchio

The room was roomy, cozy, and clean, and there was plenty of good food at breakfast. We were only here for one night, but Filippo and Federica made us feel very welcome with their friendly, kind service. I’d definitely recommend the hotel. Simonetta and Francesco
