Sbarcatore dei Turchi - Dimore

The owners, Gabriele and Augusto, and their dog Alfio gave us such a warm welcome during our four night road trip stop at the Sbarcatore dei Turchi hotel. The hotel is ideally placed between Catania and Syracuse, with spacious, comfortable rooms and an incredible view of the Ionian Sea. Our hosts helped plan our stay and trips, and even reserved space for our group, which made everything much more comfortable. They were always smiling, caring, and accommodating, and we’ll remember Augusta fondly. Thank you from the heart. We hope to see you again! Charlotte, Léa, Vincent and Nicolas from France.

I’ve been to this place several times for dinner, not as a hotel guest, and had some lovely evenings dancing Caribbean dances. The food was very good, and the service was quick, professional, and friendly. The organization is excellent. Definitely worth visiting in Augusta for an evening like this. Congratulations.

I booked five nights, but the first one was a nightmare. Rooms are rented to companies that bring in people who make a ruthless mess in the rooms, hallways, and common areas. Soundproofing is a major problem. The shared spaces are badly furnished with old, ugly pieces that look like they came from a junk shop, and the property needs a major renovation. Service is practically nonexistent. There was nobody at the bar or reception, and I had to call to check in. That’s unacceptable for a hotel. The restaurant service is honest and punctual, but there’s no choice. The staff were willing and genuinely tried to help, but I was lucky to have to leave early. I’d advise against staying here. There’s no good reason to choose this property, and the owners should take a hard look at themselves and remove it from their booking engine. You can see the photos after they cleaned the room. I’m speechless.
