B&B Residence La Costa Viola

Rosario was the highlight of our stay at Grand Hotel Victoria. He looked after us like family, whether that meant bringing chamomile tea when my stomach hurt or giving detailed directions to wherever we needed to go. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and he’s a real treasure, just like the warm, friendly people we met in Bagnara. The hotel is centrally located. We had a balcony room with a beach view, and watched the sunset on several warm September evenings. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, and breakfast is generous, with freshly baked cakes and pastries alongside traditional Italian options. Every need is taken care of in that old-fashioned service style. You won’t regret staying here.

Breakfast was great, and there are plenty of places to eat at different price points. It’s an inexpensive hotel right on the beach, with rooms that have a sea view and balcony. Summer brings a lot of visitors, so service was polite and quick, which I understand. I’d stay again next year.

They kindly let us have breakfast early, which was superb. Our room was lovely and clean, and the staff were delightful and spoke good English. A really excellent stay, many thanks.

At night, you can hear the ocean and see lights across Sicily and the mountains of southern Italy. The water is clear, and there are local cafes where you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. It’s a relaxed place, though you can also hear people having a good time at night under the cantina. The Tuesday markets are just a few steps away along the main street. Shops close for siesta from 12-2pm, then open again until 8pm. That slower routine gives you time to rest and recharge while enjoying the hotel. The staff are very helpful, and the rooms stay cool in summer.
