CX Venice Mestre

The way we were treated left us feeling singled out and unwelcome, and I would not recommend this hotel. I tried to bring my boyfriend into the room I had legally reserved, but no clear or reasonable explanation was given for the unfair treatment we received. The night receptionist raised his voice and spoke aggressively, directing hostility at me instead of handling the issue professionally. I got the impression that his behavior was influenced by prejudice against my boyfriend’s skin color. It showed a lack of respect and professionalism, and came across as discriminatory. Every guest deserves fair treatment regardless of appearance, ethnicity, or background.

Staff were all very helpful, and the hostel is close to Mestre train and bus station, with shops and restaurants nearby. For my first hostel stay at 58, I was happy with the choice. The twin room for single use was basic, but clean and just what I needed for a city break in Venice.

Breakfast was fine, with something savory and something sweet, though the selection was limited. The room was satisfactory, but more storage, like shelves or hangers, would help. It was clean, but some repainting and general maintenance would improve it.

The staff were lovely and our room was perfectly fine, so the stay itself was okay. The issue is the advertised guest kitchen: it has a microwave and fridge, but no plates, bowls, cutlery, stove, oven, or even a kettle. They really shouldn’t call that a kitchen.
