If all you need is a place to sleep, this is probably fine. For a proper night's rest, or a hotel that looks good for the gram, I'd spend more. The bed slopes so you roll toward the middle, and you'll want earplugs and an eye mask. Outside, there's the noise of what it's like in the ghetto of Naples: homeless people, people getting hit by trams, and fireworks in the street. This is a shared property with four ensuite rooms and one tiny kitchen for everyone. It only has plates and cutlery for four, no oven or microwave, and very little to cook with. There is a small coffee machine that uses little bags. The balcony in the old reviews looks inviting, but those must be very old photos, lol. Now there's just a table and chairs. Mosquitoes were a real problem. We stayed over a week, and the guests before us had the same issue. We tried plug-in repellents, spray, and bug spray, but hardly anything helped. We kept waking up with more bites. One night someone tried our door because they didn't realize it was a shared property. Lots of people come and go, so just stay friendly. There's a nice building supervisor in the lobby, but if he's there you'll need to pay 10 cents for the lift to the 7th floor. It's free outside his business hours, and he usually finishes around 7 pm. The lift is tiny, too. Two people with bags is a squeeze. The location is cheap and fairly close to the train and market.

The flat itself is gorgeous, with lovely views over the rooftops of Naples. It has four rooms and a shared spot for coffee or cooking. The kitchen has cutlery, an oven and hob, and a microwave. The service deserves even more than five stars, they couldn't do enough for us. It's handy for both central and Garibaldi train stations, the bus station, and not far from the airport. There are good local shops, and we had an excellent breakfast at a nearby cafe, where the staff were great too. We walked to the historic area, the duomo, and the castle, though buses and the metro are close by. We also took the funicular up the hill to the castle. I'd highly recommend this place if you're coming to Naples. Fireworks are common there for all sorts of celebrations. We enjoyed at least six local displays from the balcony, plus a brass band.

The hosts stopped replying even after I messaged several times. It felt like a very unprofessional way to treat travellers, and they didn't seem to care at all. The apartment is on the 8th floor, but the shower and bathroom had almost no water pressure, which made taking a bath miserable. There were exposed wires in the room that could be a fatal risk if touched, and the air conditioner didn't work in the hot weather. If you like a well-lit room, this isn't for you either: the only bright lights were red, purple, pink, and blue, which can feel suffocating if you don't like those colors.

Really good value, and the rooms are cool. I've booked another trip to Napoli and will stay at D'amelios Suite again.

Being so close to the central station was the one good thing. The front door area smelled strongly of urine, and the room wasn't as described. It was dusty, the floor was dirty, and we found hair on the bed. The bathroom hadn't been properly sanitized either. There was heavy limescale on the showerhead, and the water was very strong. The terrace was run down, with broken sofas and a dirty communal table we couldn't use. When our stay ended, we were asked to empty all the bins and take the trash out.
