We loved the place and its good vibes. The hosts were amazing, and the food was great.

ULIVETO GARDEN: Our vacation was ruined. We were two people who booked four nights at the end of August, just a few days ahead, and specifically asked for half-board. We sent a €300 deposit. I told N., the man handling the reservation, that I’m gluten and lactose intolerant, but have no special requirements and am happy with very little. The little I asked for still needed to be there. When we arrived, he openly told us the restaurant was closed and that he’d send us somewhere else. We were disappointed, but decided to stay for two nights anyway. The rooms were nice enough, but the property is far from everything and poorly connected, especially to Bagnara, by a long, inconvenient road. The mosquito nets are badly needed, and there’s no small refrigerator in the room. We only got one breakfast, which he made an effort to provide: croissants loaded with butter that I found inedible. My breakfast was forgotten altogether. The worst part came after we left. An employee had made promises and told us many lies, and we were sent away with a promise of a refund within a few days. Two months went by. Every week there was a different story: first the bank transfer had been made, then it hadn’t; then N. was in hospital, and even sent me a photo, perhaps for his archive; then he asked for my tax code, and later for my Postepay card. It was a real circus, with stories about his health as though we were old friends and I should care about his problems. I tried to reach someone else and got through to the owner. At first he seemed angry about the embarrassment and asked me to send my IBAN. Then he disappeared too, and hung up when I tried to call again. That was our experience with the people at Uliveto Garden. We paid €300 for two nights at a two-star hotel in the middle of nowhere, and felt completely ripped off. We love Calabria, but people like this ruin it. I can only advise against staying here.

Peaceful and quiet, surrounded by olive groves and lush greenery, with a swimming pool for guests. The home-cooked food made with typical local products is delicious. Mr. Nicola manages the place excellently, and the staff are ready to help with whatever you need. Highly recommended for a holiday or a family day out.

Mr. Nicola is the real highlight. He works tirelessly, made us feel welcome and paid attention to every need. Thanks for a wonderful stay. The setting is a hillside overlooking the sea, surrounded by olive trees, and it’s a great place to rest and relax. It’s not crowded, parking is easy, and the nights are cool enough to sleep comfortably. The location is excellent, just a few kilometers from Palmi, Scilla and the Bagnara marina.
