The spa percorso was enjoyable, though for a peaceful visit, try to book when as few people as possible are doing it. Our Gold Deluxe room was spacious, with a nice large bed and a bigger TV that was easy to see, unlike the postage-stamp screens you often get. The balcony also had a lovely mountain view, especially when it snowed. There’s no separate shower stall, but the tub has a shower. The bar is very basic and not somewhere to linger, so it could use a rethink. Staff were always helpful and courteous.

The staff’s attitude made breakfast a miserable way to start the day. It felt like an impossible mission: there was everything and nothing. If you want eggs, be sure to ask in Italian or you might not know what you’ll get. Eggs also cost extra, though that part wasn’t the issue. A note for the staff: fried eggs are “Uovo all'occhio di bue,” scrambled eggs are “Uova strapazzate,” and an omelet is “Omelette.”

There’s a large dining area, and breakfast is served as a buffet. We skipped dinner because we’re not buffet fans. The location is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Cyclists can use the well-equipped bike storage, with a pump and tools. The spa costs extra; it looked great, and the spa pool was amazing, rich in thermal salts and smells. It was a great stay for what we needed, in an area of stunning natural beauty.

The spa was incredible and very relaxing, with warm sulphuric waters straight from nature. It may be especially relieving for people with skin problems or stomach issues.
