Even in the summer heat, the stone walls and steady cool breeze kept the farmhouse comfortable throughout the day. There's also a swimming pool surrounded by greenery, which helps with the heat. Cesare, the owner, was very kind, helpful, and attentive to guests' needs. An unforgettable stay. The farmhouse sits among the valleys, woods, and fields of Tuscia and has been converted into three apartments. We spent several days in Airone on the first floor; the other two apartments are on the ground floor. Entering in a straight line, ours had a large kitchen with a solid wood table, then a living area with two sofas and a big bookcase, including books in English, French, and German. There was a double bedroom, a bathroom with a tub, shower, and double sink, and another bedroom with two single beds. The style is rustic throughout, from the basalt block floor in the kitchen area and brick bathroom floor to the exposed ceiling beams and furnishings that fit the architecture. Wi-Fi and small appliances are available throughout the farmhouse, including a refrigerator, microwave, and hairdryer. There is no TV. The kitchen has all the necessary dishes and a few basics like salt, sugar, and oil.

The setting is lovely, and having a swimming pool there makes it even better.
