We hadn't planned on staying in Civita di Bagnoregio, but booked Palazzo Contino at the last minute. It turned out to be a great decision. The apartment is a spacious old palazzo with a charming rustic feel: three bedrooms, one double and two with twin beds, plus a bathroom, a separate toilet, a large hall, and a cozy kitchen. Its location near the cliff is a highlight, with a beautiful garden outside at the back. We saw an unforgettable sunrise there, peaceful and breathtaking. We called Marco on the number provided, and he answered within seconds. Check-in was easy, and he let us in straight away and explained the place. He was genuinely kind and helpful, even giving us a pack of rice because the shops in Civita had already closed.

The setting in Civita Di Banagrio feels like a little piece of paradise, and the apartment is just a couple of minutes from cafes and restaurants. There’s a garden with seating and a table, plus lovely views of the cliffs and surrounding area. The place is so large and private that it feels more like a house, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and dining area, and a huge living room. Its furniture, decorations, and kitchen items have an old-time feel, but the stay was still very comfortable. Gaia was easy to reach, clear about the instructions, and quick to share helpful recommendations. She also handled dinner reservations for us, and her suggestions were spot on. I’d say it’s worth staying at least one night to enjoy the place and Gaia’s hospitality.

We made this attentive host’s BnB our base for three nights while exploring the area. Marco arranged dinners for us in Civita, and also organized a goat cheese tasting at a local farm, which I’d highly recommend. It was an excellent stay.

The host’s friendliness is what made this stay stick with me. I loved the views from the garden and the amazing night sky. This was my favorite place to stay during my trip to Italy.
