Agriturismo Giratola

The setting at Agriturismo Giratola is stunning, and the two hosts were wonderful and looked after us so well. Highly recommend it!

The apartment was clean and had everything we needed except a frying pan, which the host brought over straight away. It’s a quiet spot, and the pool is clean with lovely views. The heat was the big problem. The apartment, especially the bedroom, was extremely hot and impossible to stay in during the day. It cooled down outside at night, but the house stayed like an oven. The description mentions thick stone walls, which made it sound as though the apartment would stay cool, but that wasn’t our experience. The ceiling seemed poorly insulated, and air conditioning is needed. Other guests mentioned the same issue. I wouldn’t recommend staying here in summer. The temperatures were normal for the season, not unusually high as the host claimed. It’s been above 30 degrees for years, and never below that. There was also a mismatch with the posted times. The website and signs said the pool closed at 8:00 PM, but we were told it closed at 6:00 PM and that staying until 7:00 PM would be an exceptional favor. Checkout was similar: the website said 10:00 AM, then the day before we were told 9:00 AM, with 10:00 AM again presented as an exception. We found that very unprofessional, especially for a place that isn’t exactly cheap.

A warning: I booked and paid through Airbnb, and then the host was blocked by Airbnb...

There’s a lovely view and a wonderfully quiet atmosphere here, great for workers looking to unwind and rest with their families. The farmhouse is very affordable and has lots of comforts.
