San Gimignano stood out clearly in the view from the terrace, which was the most impressive one we've had. We spent a week at the villa and loved how quiet it was, with the nearest neighbors 200 meters away. It felt as if we belonged in this beautiful area. We'd gladly come back.

We spent most of our time on the huge terrace, whether eating, barbecuing, relaxing, or watching the stars. The villa itself was spotless, with lovely living rooms and bedrooms, and it gave us a real taste of Tuscany. The pool was a short walk away and never busy, so we could always get loungers and an umbrella. Concetta was a great host, always there when we needed help. A stunning week from beginning to end, and I can't recommend it enough.

I keep coming back to this Tuscan valley, even though I usually want to see somewhere new. People from all over Europe return here year after year, and it almost feels like a secret. After years of living, working, and travelling around Italy, this Agriturismo, with its old vineyards and olive groves, feels like home and gives me the most authentic Italian experience. The farmhouse apartments are clean and roomy, with beautiful views, and the pool is pristine and shaded. You can walk up the hill to the historic cafés, bars, and restaurants of Barbarino Val D'Elsa, or drive to Lucca, Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano, and Siena. Those outings can distract from the quiet here. If you need air conditioning in the Italian heat, or would be frustrated by a day or two of the thunderstorms that keep Tuscany green, this might not be the right place for you. Even making Italian coffee the way it comes from a moka pot is part of that slower pace. It's better suited to travellers than tourists, but people with different needs and expectations can still be enchanted by this magical place.

The hills covered in olive trees and grapes made it easy to unwind, and we really enjoyed the views and the pool. Our apartment was large and had everything we needed. The hosts were welcoming, and we felt at home at Agriturismo Torraiolo. Concetta deserves a special thank you for arranging our stay and being available to answer questions. The location is handy for Florence, Piza, Siena, and other sights. We hope to return.

We stayed for two weeks in July 2021 as a family of five. The large pool was great for swimming, and the quiet surroundings had lovely views across a typical Tuscan landscape of olive and wine trees. Our spacious apartment was comfortable, the beds were good, and the kitchen had what we needed for basic meals. Barberino Val d’Elsa, with its nice restaurants, was close enough to walk to.
