The food was one of the highlights of my trip. I went on the kind receptionist at the fort's recommendation, and it was fabulous. Every dish was amazing. The chef took my order, cooked it, and served it himself. He was just as friendly at the table as he was talented in the kitchen. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

The menu changes with the seasons and is quite limited, with plates priced from 15€ up. The food is good quality and the ingredients are fresh. From the outside, it looks like a restaurant with just three tables, but there's plenty more seating inside.

The restaurant is tucked along a narrow little street. The photo I posted shows the street it's on. The main dining room has just two tables, but there's more seating around the corner, and the owners will show you there. It's small, so arrive a little before the main dining time or be prepared to wait. The food was amazing. My wife ordered a vegetable pie with a wonderful cheese sauce, and polenta covered in butter and more cheese. I had pasta with sausage ragù, topped with a local cheese that added a great flavor. If you get the chance to go, do. You won't be disappointed.

We had a delicious lunch of Tagnolini de Ragu with Nebbiolo from Donnas. The restaurant's location along the walls of Fort de Bard is amazing, and each flight of steps leads to another charming dining area.
