Hotel Gardenia & Villa Charme

The pool was a welcome break from the blistering heat during my visit, and breakfast was delicious, especially the pastries among all the other choices. My room had everything I’d expect from a hotel and was neat and clean. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. This has to be one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in, and certainly the cleanest.

From the welcome drink right through to heading home, everything went really well. The owners and staff were friendly and accommodating, and there were plenty of them around at busy times. The hotel and rooms were spotless, the breakfast was generous with a good selection, and the pools never felt overcrowded. Some bacon and sausage would have made breakfast perfect. The whole family had a great time. If I’m being very picky, the pool was a little cold, though in the hot sun probably any pool would feel chilly.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but I had to ask for everything. The curtains did a poor job of blocking light, and breakfast was small. The coffee beans tasted like used Nespresso pods. This is two stars at best, and I wouldn’t visit again.

The location worked well for us, just a short walk from the lake and town centre. Both pools out front were fairly quiet, with one quieter than the other. The rooms were clean and the beds really comfortable, and staff were always glad to help. Only downside was no iron in the room, though you can use one behind reception.
