Guest House Stazione Centrale

The location is decent, but the living conditions were unacceptable. It was extremely cold in the apartment and the heating barely worked. I got sick during our stay because of the low temperature and had to go to the hospital for medical help. It completely ruined our trip. The cleanliness was below an acceptable standard, and after we reported the problem, the host didn't respond promptly or take it seriously. I wouldn't recommend this apartment or stay here again.

The receptionist was nice, and the sheets and towels seemed fresh and clean. That's the one plus. We were only there for one night, luckily, but didn't sleep at all because of the noise and light around the room. Some people might say it's fine because it's cheap, but it really isn't. We'd stayed somewhere else in Bari a few days earlier for a similar price, and the places weren't comparable. I can't recommend this hostel.

The location was awful for us. We had to pay in cash, and the hotel gave no receipt, which made me think it might be illegal. The host refused to speak with me by phone and insisted we exchange emails so he could have proof of what we'd discussed. The room and other spaces smelled terrible, of dog urine and old dust, and even perfume didn't help. The shared bathroom was in terrible shape: the tub was cracked, there was hair everywhere, and water wouldn't drain. We couldn't use it for a day because the shower was broken. Since the bathroom was next to our room, flooding sent water into it, and we had to clean it up with a sheet. We bought a chemical product to try to drain the water, but it didn't work. The towels weren't changed and the room wasn't cleaned as hotels usually do. The sheets and towels were a little dirty and smelled weird. The bedroom itself smelled terrible, too. There was no AC, just one fan, and the room was hot and full of mosquitoes. I definitely don't recommend Guest House Central Station.

The bathroom was clean, and I enjoyed the breakfast, coffee and croissant. But with traffic all around and noisy Italian drivers, this isn't somewhere to come for a few days of rest. The room itself was clean, though the sheets had lots of stains. There was no heat even though a radiator was there but not working, so it was cold indoors just as it was outside. On windy days, the old windows made a sound like the room was haunted.
