Guesthouse City Center

The rooms were hot and smelled of smoke. The water cooler was disgusting, and I had to change the water and ice pack myself. Communication was minimal, and after being left outside with no help getting in, I found no one there to open the door. They already knew when I'd arrive, but sent the codes late. I planned to use the place just for sleep and hold my breath. I usually leave only good reviews, but I think you, and I, would be happier somewhere else. Spend more and stay elsewhere!

Tonia, the housekeeper, is 10/10. They want high ratings, so don't be afraid to ask for service. Grazie. The apartment's a grand old place with a modern kitchenette, and it was very clean. The freezer might need defrosting. There was no AC, and the bathroom was small but very clean, with a small shower. I'm 1.8 m. I booked early and got the best room as promised, with 15 foot ceilings, a grand master bedroom, and a balcony with a small table and two chairs. The place was as described and as I'd researched, and good, fair value.

The location is good, with markets, shops, and the station nearby. But I was disappointed. Staff were very rude and didn't wait for us when our flight was delayed. We were nearly left outside over a few minutes. The reception is far from the rooms, and you can hear every noise from outside. In our room, the bed was very uncomfortable, there was no clothes rack, and the TV was tiny. There's no AC, and the internet doesn't work on floor 0. We paid €28 for cleaning and towels, yet there were just 3 towels for 2 people for 3 nights. We were also charged city tax every day of our stay, which seemed completely strange.

The location was great and the instructions were clear. Everything else was a problem. It smelled VERY bad throughout, especially the room, like dog urine, old dust, or both. Perfumes didn't help. The tub in the bathroom was all cracked and in very bad shape, and the doors were hard to lock or unlock. The host refused to talk with me on the phone and insisted on emailing back and forth about every question so he'd have proof of our conversation. This is truly the worst hostel I've stayed in, and it needs repairs and modernization. How did it get 9.5 stars on hostelworld? We paid 70€/ room a night for 2 people, which isn't cheaper than a full studio airbnb. I really don't recommend staying here.
