The price for the stay, with continental breakfast included, was quite reasonable. My room, near the dining area, was clean and neatly arranged. The woman in charge, perhaps the owner, was very kind, though she didn't speak English. We managed well with Google Translate on her smartphone. The taxi driver quoted 15 for the airport ride, apparently the late-night minimum, and the owner arranged a pickup for 22 at 7:30 the next morning.

The apartment was comfortable, and the host and staff were really kind and helpful. The airport is nearby, but it didn't bother us. We may have been too worn out after days of sightseeing to notice it.

We landed in Bari around 7 pm on my husband's birthday, with our two small children, and headed for the apartment we'd booked a month earlier. Just 20 minutes before we were due to get in, we were told the reservation had been canceled. It was our first time in Bari, and we had no idea what to do, especially with the children. The people responsible didn't seem to care that we had nowhere to go. The kids were left out in the cold while we searched for another place to stay. That disgusting treatment ruined my husband's birthday.
