We arrived early and couldn’t leave our bags, which was okay since that isn’t always possible. But when we returned at check-in time, we spoke to them and then had to wait outside for 30 minutes before someone opened the door. Around midnight during our stay, an owner or staff member opened our room door. I shouted, “What are you doing?” and they said they were sorry and thought we’d checked out. At midnight, two days before checkout? Sure. I thought they might have been up to something else and hoping we weren’t in the room. Our flight wasn’t until 5 pm, so we planned to stay in the room until checkout time. Half an hour before then, someone was banging on the door, yelling that we had to check out right away. We stayed in February 2023. I’m only posting now because a friend had booked this place and I got them to change their location.

It was hard to reach them by phone or any other way, but there was no issue in the end. The place is legitimate and nice, and the service there was kind.

Right in the center of Bari, which makes it a handy choice for a night if you're traveling on a tight budget. The single room is very small, and since it's cheap, don't expect much in the way of hotel rules.

The location is the one positive. It doesn't make up for the awful service or the place's very poor security and hygiene.

The bathroom walls were dirty, the room wasn't very clean, and the heating didn't work. We also had to wait an hour to check in. I wouldn't recommend it, and, by the way, you can't call it Palazzo.
