Tenuta Saiano

Breakfast was the real standout: fresh local meats and dairy, fruit, cake, and cantucci every day. It was always more than we could manage, but so good we kept trying. The agriturismo is on a hillside overlooking San Marino and Verucchio, and the wine bar and pleasant terrace made for lovely evenings. Our room was decent, though nothing special. It had a good, quiet air conditioner, but space was limited and the shower was far too small. We barely fit.

Light sleepers should know there was constant noise in the "il Brigante" room, and I barely slept at all. Most of it seemed to come from the roof, though at times it sounded like it was inside the room. There was a scratching or chewing sound, plus other noises like something moving overhead. It could have been an animal or the wind, which the hotel may not be able to control, but the noise kept me awake.

The hills above Rimini are a beautiful setting for this little gem of an agriturismo. Our room looked out over the hills, and the hospitality and peaceful feel made the stay special. We highly recommend booking the restaurant, trying the delightful menu, and having a glass of wine made on the premises. Birdwatchers might spot a family of golden orioles, called rigògolo in Italian and oriolus oriolus in Latin. It's a great base for exploring the lovely surroundings, away from Italy's more beaten paths. PS Grazie Lorella per avere reso il soggiorno speciale, torneremo!

A wonderful place for dining and parties in the heart of the Romagna hills, just a few kilometers from the seaside. They make wines and vermouths there, and there's a nice resort with a restaurant. Definitely worth visiting for evening events.
