The wines were outstanding, some of the best I’ve ever tried. When we visited Cascina Pugnane in June 2023, the owner and staff were so attentive and personal. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived. Our room was perfectly clean, and the small wellness area was a nice addition to the facilities.

Ivo’s passion for winemaking and Alessia’s gentle help made this a memorable experience, full of human warmth. At this domain dating back to the 14th century, we toured the winery and cellars, then had an aperitivo at the top of the watch tower with views over the countryside. After that, we tasted the estate’s wines on the terrace with delicious food, in a real slow food and wine style.

The host spoke so enthusiastically about the wines and his love of making them, and did everything to make us feel welcome. The panorama over the other vineyards was incredible. We toured the cellars, tower, and part of the land before tasting four different wines with antipasti. Each wine had its own flavor, which made it tough to decide how much to buy, especially with such reasonable prices. This was our best wine tasting so far. The photos included show the view we had during the tasting, and we’ll definitely come back when we’re in the area again.

The views and the dinner and wine tasting were incredible, but the hospitality stood out most. Alessia looked after my wife and me so well on our honeymoon that leaving felt like saying goodbye to a close friend. We can’t recommend Cascina Pugnane enough.

We only wish we’d had more nights at Cascina Pugnane. The location and the winery tasting were excellent, and Alessia was a terrific host. We’re looking forward to coming back!
