Appartamenti Vistaqua

The hotel owner recommended this restaurant. They own the hotel and a few restaurants nearby, and my partner and I tried two of them. We started with a selection of fish appetizers, all cooked well and full of flavor. The grilled octopus was the best I've ever tried, and the fresh tuna ragu was another highlight. The menu puts “pizza” in quotes, and it seems to be their own take on it. The bread slices brought to the table first had a strong, unpleasant commercial yeast smell and taste. With that much yeast, I expected them to rise, but they were very dense. The pizza in the pictures hadn't risen either, though it didn't have that strong yeast smell. The biscuit-like crunchy dough tasted nicely of flour, and the toppings were amazing. I think the ingredients were high quality, which is why I gave it 4 stars. It seems like a good restaurant, fairly priced for the quality of the products, and I'd return, just not for the pizza. Based on my experience, I think everything would be cooked perfectly apart from the flour-based baked goods.

The staff were really friendly and spoke English, and the food was delicious. My husband had the beef filet, I ordered ravioli, and we shared the dessert selection. We also had water and soda. It came to 53 euros. Excellent!

The pizza was amazing, and the menu had options that were above average too. Prices were a little higher than average, but I'd go back. Booking ahead is recommended.

The Italian food was good, and I had a really nice evening. The service and recommendations were nice too, when I asked direct questions.
