Locanda Barchetta

We loved our earlier three-night stay here, and are excited to return to Locanda Barchetta in July for five nights. The management was friendly and helpful, the food was incredible, and the breakfast area was great. Our room was spotless and quaint, and the price was reasonable, especially for what may be the most central location in Bellagio. Can’t wait!

Rosie gave us helpful parking suggestions, which came in handy since there’s no parking and Bellagio is all up and down, so you’ll need to carry your bags. The place was easy to find, and everyone at Locanda Barchetta worked hard to look after guests. We’d stay here again next time we’re back in Bellagio. We spent four nights here in September. Our room was small but clean, quaint, and cleaned daily. It had a lovely little balcony with partial lake views in two directions. It was above a restaurant, but with the windows closed it was very quiet. With them open, we enjoyed hearing the city below.

Our first evening here has turned into a wait outside, and we only have one full day in the area. The ferry ride makes arrival times hard to predict, but the hotel gives you very narrow check-in windows: 12 to 2:30, or after 6. Outside those hours the doors are locked and there’s nobody to call. We couldn’t even leave our bags. If you want flexibility on vacation or have limited time, I wouldn’t choose this place. A horrible first impression.

A friendly little B&B right in the center of Bellagio. The rooms are small but perfectly adequate, with a fridge, and some have little balconies. Breakfast is relaxed, with pastries and coffee, plus eggs made to order.
