Residence Mendolita

We had a large, very clean room with a little kitchenette, a small fridge/freezer, and an outdoor terrace. The bed was probably the most comfortable I’ve slept in anywhere in Italy. It’s about a three-minute walk to the pedestrian main street, where most of the restaurants and shops are. Breakfast is a buffet with eggs, meat, croissants, bread, cake, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice, and coffee. There isn’t a pool here, but you can use the one at another hotel two minutes up the road if you buy something at the bar. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very good value, and I’d recommend it.

Everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly, but it was just fine, nothing more. The bed felt a little too firm, and the hotel is a bit out of town, though not far. Breakfast was acceptable. The kitchen had none of the basic supplies, not even washing-up liquid or salt and pepper, which made it awkward to cook just one meal instead of eating out. The pool is at another hotel, and you have to buy a drink to use it. That didn’t feel very welcoming, so we skipped it.

Each morning we had excellent breakfast with freshly baked pastries. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a kitchenette and a patio furnished with lounge chairs. You’re just steps from both the pedestrian center and the marina.

We spent 11 nights here, and the property was spotless and well maintained throughout. Everyone on staff was extremely kind and welcoming, and the center is within walking distance. The only downside was the sunset, which you have to go to the other side of the island to see. The breakfasts deserve a mention too. Thanks to Lucia, we got to try a different delicious dessert every day, and the strudel was unbeatable. Highly recommended!
