Hotel Ombrosa

On my first stay here I had a wonderful time. It’s close to the beach but away from the bustle around the hotels nearer the center, and downtown is only a five-minute walk. The owners and their daughters were incredibly kind and helpful. Thanks to all the staff for looking after us, and I hope the rest of the season goes wonderfully.

We were given a triple room instead of the double we expected, since little Aurora would otherwise have slept with us. It was spacious, comfortable, and had a small balcony. We stayed from Sunday to Thursday and felt right at home in this family-run hotel. The food was high quality and excellent, and the sea was just a few steps away. We’d gladly recommend it and hope to see you again soon. Best regards.

I’d picked this hotel over the winter of 2024/2025 because it seemed like the best fit for what I needed. I wanted to book, but was waiting to find out how I’d done on my driving test. The foreign woman I spoke to on the phone was very patient. I can’t recall her name because in earlier emails she always signed as "Hotel Ombrosa." When I arrived at about 6:00 a.m. on August 21, 2025, I called once and got no answer. I hoped there might be a night watchman, but apparently there wasn’t. On the second call, a woman with a foreign accent allegedly answered, "Is this the way to call people at this hour?" I said, "Seeing how you treated me, I'm almost tempted to go back to Bologna." She apparently replied, "Have a good trip," so I left. In the end, I think not staying was a good deal for me. The hotel looked almost empty, judging by the few cars in the parking area out front. Via Veglia is narrow, one-way, and a dead end, and the parking is just a plot of land adapted for that use. I’d like to know why Hotel Ombrosa’s Google Maps page says parking is free when I was going to be charged €5 per day. I attached a photo.

We stumbled across this hotel and found a wonderful family. The owners were welcoming, very helpful, and kind, and made us feel at home. The sea is only a few steps away, which is a fantastic spot for families with children. The food was plentiful and excellent. A shout-out to the chef! We highly recommend it and will definitely return. ❤️
