Room for two in Hotel Villa Alexandra

We're writing here because after reading your reply on Booking.com, we can no longer write there. We regret that you answered our complaint with sarcasm and accusations instead of addressing it respectfully. There were no towels. That's a fact, not an opinion. We called because we were left trying to manage with our own things, and the room had only one roll of toilet paper. Guests shouldn't have to come downstairs and chase basic supplies. It's the hotel's responsibility to make sure they're there from the start. About the girl's age, she's 17 and therefore a minor. Saying she's "far from a child" dismisses the issue rudely. Booking.com may let someone enter a 17-year-old as an adult, but that information is incorrect: the tax code for adults applies only to guests aged 18 and over. That technical inconsistency doesn't justify the behavior. We knew we'd chosen a one-star property. That doesn't make missing essentials or an aggressive, disrespectful public response acceptable. Guests deserve respect at every kind of establishment. We also consider it very serious that you warned other hoteliers about us and posted things publicly like "some people never cease to amaze us." That's inappropriate, damaging to our reputation, and not professional conduct for anyone working with the public. We aren't the only guests to have had similar experiences. In other reviews, we saw several people publicly accused of stealing bathrobes. That's an extremely serious accusation and could be defamatory, especially without evidence. If you believe something irregular happened, check the security cameras, including the ones used to deliver the dress, and contact the Carabinieri if needed. We have nothing to hide. We have witnesses on video call who can confirm our account: that the bathrobes were missing, the actual condition of the property, and when the dress was delivered. Please look carefully at the situation before making accusations or insinuations. Professional management should receive criticism with openness and respect, not personal attacks or an offensive tone. That wasn't our experience here. Kind regards.

The breakfast was decent, and the lady was very nice, but neither makes up for the quality of the room at that price. It was ancient, tucked entirely inside, with two fans, a bathroom that looked like it belonged in the 1900s, no bidet, and a curtain that was honestly disturbing. My daughter was scared to go in. The location is central, but awkward to reach, down a narrow dead-end street where parking feels like a challenge. This was an unexpected stopover, and thankfully just for one night. It was the only place available in the area, so I even sent a bank transfer to hold the room. If I'd known what it was like, I never would have booked it. It's 2025, do places like this still exist? The price was outrageous. Never again.

My husband and I, along with my sister, her husband, and their two children, all had a wonderful time, even though the rooms were small. The owner and his daughter welcomed us so warmly and kindly. We've decided to come back next year. Thanks, and please give the owner and his daughter my regards!

The sea is right outside, and beach prices are very reasonable. The hostess was so friendly and helped us communicate, which made things easy since we don't speak Italian. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast had something for everyone. Highly recommended!
