B&B Sant'Antonio De Foris

We had a great time in Bergamo and the surrounding area, and the hotel’s relaxed atmosphere and location helped make that possible. The room was large and nice, and the service polite and cheerful. Cità Alta and central Bergamo, including the shopping area and transit stations, are within walking distance. There’s also a lovely alley right in front, full of little shops and cafés.

Now that I know where to find it and how to get around, I’d stay again. The location was good and the price really good, and there’s a lovely street nearby with all sorts of charming places to eat. The hotel has a rustic feel and isn’t very modern. It took us a while to find the place and its charm. We arrived by car and had no idea where to park, since nothing was nearby and it isn’t a typical hotel with a front desk. Eventually we worked it out and parked in a garage not too far away.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served at the restaurant downstairs and was very good. They also have half-price pizza on Wednesday. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the center of Bergamo, or two minutes by bus. Check-in times are limited. The room and bathroom were both a good size, and the room had a fridge and a kettle for coffee. The bed would be more comfortable with a mattress topper. The wardrobe is a bit high, so hanging clothes on the top rail is difficult. The bathroom could use a refurb: the sink plug was missing and there was some mould at the bottom of the shower. It needs a little work, but it’s a decent B&B.

We had a really good breakfast in the morning, and they kindly let us leave our bags there until it was time to head to the airport. It’s a really nice place for a stay in Bergamo, and I’d definitely recommend it.
