Bb la Torre Bergamo

La Torre Bergamo was a lovely stay. The room was spotless, and the location in the heart of the Old Town was great for shops, bars and amazing restaurants. Alessia made us feel very welcome. The room is quite small, which could be tricky if you’re a larger visitor, and there are stairs to every room. If you’re fine with that, you’ll have a great time. One tip: bring earplugs, as mopeds pass during the night. That’s the trade-off for being so central.

The location was great and the service friendly, but it was 29 degrees in our room at night, and there’s no air conditioning. Sleeping was horrible. It was too noisy from the street to open the window, and after the first night I was thinking of checking out.

The rooms were clean, the beds good, and the modern bathrooms had excellent showers. Breakfast was lovely and included. But street noise and the pub next door were very loud late into the early morning, even from the top floor. It’s not La Torre’s fault, but it’s a poor choice if you need sleep.

The location is great, and the place is clean and well equipped. Getting to the rooms means climbing a lot of stairs, though, which is a real hassle with luggage. I also doubt there’s any wheelchair access. Breakfast was limited, and they had run out of bread that morning, so we went to the nearest bakery to buy some. I’d give it about an 8.
