Green Bed Bergamo

Icardo was so helpful, kind, and accommodating throughout our stay. The rooms were a decent size, and the location was very good, about a five-minute walk from Bergamo train station. I'd recommend it for a night or two.

The host was lovely, and the shared kitchen was well equipped. Our room was spacious and clean, with a nice bathroom and shower, plus a little balcony-like space. There's also a nice garden. It's about a five-minute walk from the train station, or from bus number 1, which comes from the airport. The only downside was no air conditioning in our room, though I can't say whether other rooms have it. Given the price and location, it was brilliant. I'd come back.

For Bergamo, the price was very good, and the room was perfectly clean. The location also works well if you're arriving from the airport or main station. Just bear in mind it's a guest house, so check-in is by appointment and there's no 24-hour reception. That makes plans a bit less flexible. There's also no convenient luggage storage after checkout. I used the self-service lockers at the station, but be careful no one sees you enter the PIN. The listing makes these things clear, so that's fair. Our private bathroom was outside the room, which didn't bother us, though managing the key could be a little awkward.

We couldn't stay, so I can't give an opinion about the place itself. Our flight was canceled because of the air traffic controllers' strike in Italy, and we contacted all the hotels five days ahead to explain and ask to cancel. Everyone else understood and waived the fee, except this hotel and another one in Como. This hotel didn't reply to our messages and simply refused a free cancellation, even though we gave them time to offer the room to someone else. We hadn't canceled the reservation, and we suspect they meant to rent it out anyway, since they didn't send the check-in instructions on the morning of the stay as they had said they would. We were very unhappy with how they handled a cancellation that wasn't our choice. I don't think guests can expect help from this establishment. We can provide evidence if anyone needs more information.
