I've rented plenty of places while traveling, and this was my worst experience. After paying the deposit, I asked for basic details, including the exact address and when the balance was due. They said they wouldn't tell me and would send instructions the day before. I politely followed up, got no answer, then called, but nobody picked up. I became really worried it was a scam and that I'd been cheated. I messaged again, asking them to respond so I could know I'd have somewhere to sleep when I arrived. They replied that I was insulting them and they didn't have to tell me anything because I was a guest and could even be a terrorist. Yes, that's exactly what they wrote. I was anxious about whether I'd have a place to sleep right up until the end. The apartment itself was tidy but a bit old. Renovation coverings were over the windows, and at night the trains were very loud. I really wouldn't recommend it.

I cancelled on August 14 for a booking starting August 29, which was within the property's stated free cancellation window of up to 14 days beforehand. I have proof of both the policy and when I cancelled, but they still tried to charge me. Before that, I had contacted the property several times since January and never got a reply. When I called to sort out the charge, the owner laughed and kept saying, “exactly you must pay,” then told me, “cancel and see what happens go ahead.” The way he spoke to me as a young woman left me feeling unsafe and worried about staying there in person. They also wanted a £50 deposit through a suspicious payment link. When we asked how we would get it back given there was no reception, nobody answered us for months. Disgusting service. I wouldn't stay somewhere where guests aren't treated with basic decency.

The toilet has poor soundproofing, and with the windows open you can hear planes. The ground-floor place is modernly decorated and spacious, with a good fridge, a fan, and enough sockets.

The owner is rude and doesn't communicate, and the house feels dark. The bed was uncomfortable too. He replies to every bad review by threatening to sue, which makes it seem like he has no intention of improving. Terrible place.
