Vip Bergamo Apartments

The location is convenient, with shops, the train station and the airport all close by. We had a spacious room that was good quality for the price, but the shower had a hole in the floor covered with taped-down plastic. Water leaked into the main room whenever we showered. There was also confusion over the tourist tax. We were told on arrival, without any earlier notice, to pay it in cash by the next day. We did, but after checkout the owner charged the card used for the booking, saying we hadn't paid.

The other facilities seemed adequate, which helped during our two-night stay. Still, rain came through a leaky window and left a puddle in the bathroom. The worst part was the strong, unpleasant smell from the sheets, which made us worry about hygiene. We ended up buying an extra blanket so we could sleep comfortably.

After long days of sightseeing, the spa bath was a welcome way to rest. The place was clean, with a pleasant feel and lovely furniture, and it's about a 12-minute walk from the central train station. One drawback for older or disabled guests is the climb, around 30 steps.

The space itself is good, and the kitchen, though damaged in places, still works. But the bathroom wasn't clean, and rainwater dripped from the ceiling into the apartment all night. With no blinds on the window, we couldn't get a proper night's sleep.
