The receptionist did her job very well and knew how to handle guests, which is the reason for the one star. The rest was so disappointing that I can't give more. This residence should probably close in the off-season and get its infrastructure back in shape. The hotel manager, R., was massively out of line with us and came across as extremely arrogant and unsympathetic. The restaurant and bar were shut, even though their own notice said reduced hours were planned. When we asked, the notice was simply taken down, and we were told we could order takeaway. The small spa costs extra, despite the fairly high mid-season prices and the fact that the facilities can't all be used then. At this price for a resort and spa, I had certain expectations, and they were nowhere near met. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain, which is unacceptable for a place in this category, especially at the start of the season. The shower cubicle badly needed a proper clean and was nearly falling apart, with flooding in the bathroom after a shower all but guaranteed. We'd been looking around the Italian Riviera for a property to buy, but after this experience, Domino Mare is definitely out of the question.

The rooms are big, and the terrace with its little garden is very nice. The resort itself is okay, but the pool rules are silly. I don't like the usual towel-based sunbed reserving either, yet having to ask a lifeguard, who may or may not even be there, to reserve a bed for you is just as bad. The main reason for my low rating is the restaurant. The prices are exorbitant, while the food is mediocre at best. Skip it and go to one of the really nice restaurants in the village to the west. Your stomach and wallet will thank you.

The apartment was spacious and okay, and both the restaurant food and its view were very good. The shower, though, is ridiculously tiny, like a kids' play area, and the fittings are faulty. At one point I suddenly had the controller in my hands. There were also definitely too many dogs staying here, and they were too loud.

It's a nice apartment resort on the Italian Riviera, but it's high up the hill, so you need a car. Parking is good, and the outdoor pool has nice views. Sunbeds are free, but you have to book one, which is fine once you get used to it. The beach area is one of the poorer ones nearby, and the service there was blunt. The gym is lousy, though the running mats are okay; the spa is pretty nice and the restaurant average. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, but most had quite poor English.
