Hilton Garden Inn Rome Colosseum Hotel

We enjoyed our stay at Hilton Garden Inn Rome Colosseum. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the hotel is well located just steps from the Metro entrance. The Colosseum is also close enough to reach on foot. Before you leave, check your receipt. We found a 50 euro staff appreciation tip on our bill that we hadn't known about. I contacted the hotel, and after a few email exchanges they reversed the charge. Even with that concern, we had a pleasant enough stay that we'd come back on a future trip to Rome.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is in good shape. But the breakfast just isn't good quality and leaves a lot to be desired. The location also isn't great, even though it's beside a Metro stop. There's really nothing else around. If you're exploring Rome, stay at Hilton’s Aleph or Metropolita instead.

The staff made this hotel for me. They're amazing: kind, attentive, helpful, respectful to everyone, and great with English speakers. I've never felt so well looked after at any hotel anywhere. After an airline mix-up with the bag I'd brought, I had a large box of luggage delivered. The front desk accepted it and even helped me unwrap and check it. I'm so grateful for their help. Breakfast was also far better than I'd expected. The “continental” spread was a full buffet, with more bread options than some grocery stores, and the eggs were perfect. The hotel is right by the A line, which makes it easy to get just about anywhere. I'll definitely stay here again. Next time I'm in Rome, this will be my home away from home.

We needed somewhere to stay in Rome and chose the HGI near the Colosseum. It's centrally located, and although it was a bit pricey, it suited what we needed. We got into our room as soon as we arrived, which was great. The room was fairly spacious, with a good-sized bed and a small sofa. The bathroom was decently equipped too. The elevators are small, so fitting everything in was tight, though we managed in one trip. When we come back, this hotel will definitely be on our list.
