Agriturismo Cà Sonino

The rooms are lovely and clean, in renovated parts of an old parish rectory. We also got to try the owner's excellent local cooking, and the owners were so kind. The village is tucked away among the mountains of Val Nure, in an old settlement, and it's wonderfully peaceful, far from the world. Perfect for relaxing. I loved how secluded it was, though I can see how some people might find it a little out of the way. For me, that was a plus. Highly recommended. Thanks from Elena and Fra ✨️

Dinner comes as a set menu of local specialties, and there are a couple of kilometers between the dining area and the rooms since the agriturismo is spread out. The drive isn't too demanding, though. We chose it on a spontaneous family weekend, calling the agriturismo directly without reading many reviews, and it turned out to be more than the right choice. The setting is fantastic and so calm, and you can really feel the care and love the family puts into running the place.

Getting there means taking a winding road, but it was manageable in any car. Once there, the rustic dining room felt small but warm and welcoming, and we soon felt at ease. The set menu was full of classic Piacenza dishes: cured meats and crostini, tortelli "con la coda" (with lean tail), a seasonal first course, then wood-fired shank. Homemade desserts, good wine and coffee, all brought with a smile for a great price. A little corner of paradise with excellent food.

We had dinner at another property a kilometer away, also lovely and well kept. Everything was homemade and you could taste it, truly excellent. The owner and his son were incredibly kind and helpful. We stayed one night in a cozy, clean room in a beautiful stone building that had been completely renovated, with the pellet stove already lit when we arrived. The place is peaceful and surrounded by greenery. The road is unpaved in spots but well maintained, and on a motorbike we had only a few difficulties. We'd definitely return if we're in the area again.
