Barbara and the owners made us feel at home within minutes, and she speaks good French and English. They were also really helpful with planning our trip and know the area well. It was such a wonderful place, and I’ve never felt welcome so quickly. I’m glad we ended up here. If you have trouble finding it, use this address, not the one Airbnb gives you.

Set at the foot of Mount Etna, La Tana di Luna is a little house among typical Sicilian greenery. Its separate location and outdoor areas give you privacy and a peaceful spot to relax in nature. There’s convenient parking right in front, the indoor comforts are good, and the value is excellent. A lovely choice if you’re after serenity and an authentic stay in Sicily.

The location makes it easy to get to Mount Etna, the medieval castles of the Simeto Valley, Ponte dei Saraceni, Bronte with its pistachios, and Etnaland, which is fun for adults and kids. My girls were especially happy to use the paddling pool among the trees and greenery. Barbara and Placido welcomed me warmly and really made an effort to help guests feel at home. The property sits in a quiet, picturesque area, away from the busy city. My room was carefully kept, very clean, and nicely furnished, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely, and I especially enjoyed the excellent coffee under the centuries-old palm tree. Barbara also offered and prepared pasta alla norma, a memorable taste of authentic Sicilian cooking. I had a wonderful weekend at La Tana di Luna. It’s a real hidden gem for a relaxing stay with things to discover nearby. Thanks to Barbara and Placido for making my visit so special. I’d love to come back.
