The building is beautiful and charming, tucked away in the mountains, and the pool has a lovely view. But for €860 for 7 days, I expected more from the amenities. The listing advertises two bathrooms, and there are two, though the one downstairs is tiny and awkward to get into. Neither toilet flushes strongly enough, so you need a bucket of water, and the showers drain very slowly. Cleanliness was poor, with a bad smell in the cupboards and fridge. To top it off, ants had taken over the kitchen counter and floor. The owners gave us traps and powder without much fuss.

We came as two couples with three dogs, who were free to wander around the beautiful garden. The house had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lovely living room, and a well-equipped kitchen. There was every comfort we could want, including a barbecue and heated pool. Such an oasis of calm.
