Camping Il Capannino

We’ve got one day left and I already wish we’d booked longer. I loved the tall pines, the natural setting, and the laid-back feel of the glamping. Our Trent Lodge was great, with good Wi-Fi, reliable water, and everything very clean. There were a few ants around, but that’s part of being in a tent and didn’t bother me. The beach was lovely, and I liked that the area wasn’t packed with tourists. There’s plenty to see nearby, plus great wine and restaurants. The site itself is very clean, and the little shop sells nice pizza. The woman there also makes great cocktails.

The only small letdown was the shop, which could have had a wider selection. It wasn’t a big deal, since town is only a short drive away. The cabins sit among the pines and are lovely, with clean, well-kept facilities. Dogs are welcome too.

We had a really nice week here with our three teenagers and dog. The campsite is lovely and the staff were very friendly. The cabin had air conditioning, which we were glad to have, though bedroom storage was limited and a few bathroom shelves would’ve helped. Dogs are welcome at the property, but they can’t swim at the beach there. We had to go a little farther, which was fine, but the website says dogs are allowed on the beach and we’d have appreciated knowing the swimming restriction beforehand.

We loved the pizza they sell from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, it was really delicious. There’s also a small shop on the campsite, and the staff there were kind and helpful. Prices seemed fair for a convenience store, while bigger supermarkets are only about a five-minute drive away. Our mobile home was clean and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen that we used to cook. The sandy beach was just a 170-metre walk, and the sunsets were beautiful. Towels weren’t provided, as we’d been told before arriving, though there was a small hand towel in the bathroom. Wi-Fi worked well, but only in certain spots. If you’re hoping to relax, that limited reception can actually be a plus. I’d definitely stay at Camping Capaninno again if I get the chance to return to Italy.
