The place no longer quite matches the photos, so we mentioned it to the host. We hadn’t asked for compensation and had always been friendly, but the host said we supposedly wanted some. We were insulted several times in Italian and money was aggressively stuffed into my husband’s pockets, with the host asking whether it was enough to make up for all our inconveniences. We couldn’t even discuss our concerns calmly. Imagine that happening on a well-deserved holiday. We felt very badly treated at the property simply for raising ordinary comments. We were also accused of causing damage and asked to pay 500 euros for a folding bed that wasn’t working properly, which wasn’t our fault. The host threatened to search for more damage we had allegedly caused, before checking out and reviewing the property description. Fortunately, we’d informed the booking platform beforehand, and they warned the host not to carry out the threats. Our concern about the pool was the loose plastic tiles, which look different from the photos. The tiles let our children get their fingers between them at the edge, and we worried they might get hurt. We didn’t care about the appearance. There are also 4 caged dogs that regularly bark. They didn’t harm anyone, and we had nothing against them, but the barking disturbed the peace in our rental beside the cages. This should be made clear so guests can choose whether that suits them. For the price, the place itself was okay, just not quite what we expected. It was the way we were treated after making normal comments that made the stay so unpleasant.

The pool looks out over the estate’s surrounding park, which is lovely, and the sea is a pleasant 10-minute drive along a quiet road. Dogs are welcome, with plenty of space to run freely and fencing suitable even for large dogs. Each unit has a small fenced garden, handy for pets or little children. The park was clean, with plenty of dog waste bag dispensers and small bins. Staff were kind and friendly, and it’s an ideal place for a relaxing holiday. Definitely recommended.

We stayed in the Sole apartment, a simple but comfortable place with a double bed upstairs, a fully equipped kitchen with pots and pans, and a sofa bed and flat-screen TV downstairs. The fenced garden was great for our dogs, with a table for eating outside and a barbecue. Each apartment has one. The setting among olive and eucalyptus trees was wonderful for walks, especially in the evening when we could enjoy beautiful sunsets and see the sea in the distance. It’s a real oasis of peace, surrounded by nature and just 5 minutes from the sea. La Sainella holiday home also has a lovely pool with loungers and umbrellas, a fenced dog-walking area, ping pong, table football, bocce, and a reading room with a pool table and vending machines for soft drinks and coffee. If you want a quiet place away from the chaos, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!

We were looking for somewhere away from the tourist crowds and found that kind of isolation, which we really enjoyed. The beach was relaxing too, with some sections still free of rows of loungers and umbrellas. There’s delicious pizza nearby. But the rest of the stay didn’t work out, and we won’t return. The complex looks like it’s been left to itself. The pool wasn’t clean, partly because of all the trees around it. They seem to collect dirt from the surface, but anything that’s sunk stays there. The pool edge also no longer matches the photos: it’s now made of poorly laid plastic tiles that get very hot. Our room was very dark even with the windows open, and the toilet only trickled water, which you can hardly call a flush. The place is pet-friendly. There were about 5-10 dogs, and unfortunately they barked so loudly at night that it woke you up.

The place was wonderfully quiet, and I really valued how discreet the owners were. I spent a week there with my dog in a lovely, well-equipped accommodation. The fenced garden gave me peace of mind while still leaving the dogs plenty of room to wander.
