B&B Carosello

My wife and I booked four nights for our Bologna trip. The host was welcoming and kind, and our room was very clean and in a convenient spot. Breakfast at the cafe across the street was really good, too. Just keep in mind the bed is on the soft side, and you may hear neighbors because the building is older. I'd definitely recommend Carosello if you're after a clean, comfortable, no-frills stay in Bologna.

We had a great host, who was responsive and helpful with questions. Breakfast at Felicity across the street was pleasant and included, though it's worth checking that when you book. We stayed five nights and used Bologna for day trips to Venice, Florence and Modena, as well as exploring the city. The neighborhood was one of the best we saw, and while the train station was a longer walk than we'd have liked, about 20 minutes, we also didn't want to be too close to its somewhat dodgy surroundings. Check the bathroom setup carefully: just one room has a private one, and the others share. That worked for us, though it may not suit everyone.

Emanuela made check-in easy and was a friendly, helpful host. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and has great amenities, with the main sights close enough to reach on foot. Breakfast is served at the bakery across the street and was really tasty. The coffee was great, the croissants delicious, and the orange juice freshly squeezed and super good. I'd recommend this place to anyone staying in Bologna.

Emmanuela was patient, funny and thoughtful, and seemed to understand what we needed. Her exceptional service made the hostel feel like a luxurious hotel. My mother also wants to thank Massimo for bringing her such good food. It was a favor he did for us, and I felt he really went above and beyond.
