A nice, new apartment.

We found the place shabby and damaged, and the cleaning seemed superficial. There were exposed wires, no waste bins, missing curtains, and the bed sheets didn’t fit properly. With the blinds having to stay shut, that was especially frustrating. The soap and towels weren’t enough even for one day, and the advertised drinks amounted to just two pods for three days. There weren’t enough dishes either, and the knives were blunt. The welcome was cold. The girl who showed us the room seemed bored and barely looked up from her phone. The €3 nightly tourist tax hadn’t been disclosed, and the stay felt like poor value for the money. I really wouldn’t recommend it.

The area worked well as a base near the trade fair, and Gabriele was kind and gave me lots of directions. Nearby, there’s a supermarket open until 9:00 PM and a Sicilian deli called "Gardenia7" with sweet and savory food. There’s no breakfast, of course. My room was comfortable and clean, with a kitchenette, hallway, and bathroom. Best of all, it stayed QUIET despite the wide road, thanks to the double-glazed windows. Recommended. October 17, 2018.

My family and I arrived an hour late from Sicily because of traffic. I had called the owner beforehand and explained what was going on, so he knew about the delay. Even so, at 9:45 PM he left us stranded by the road in a city we didn’t know, with the risk of having to sleep in our car. He still charged us for the night without hosting us. The way we were treated was awful.
