Cosmopolitan Central Rooms

Our apartment was right in central Bologna, beside the Due Torri, and the promised balcony view of the famous monument was amazing. It was spotless, and checking in online was easy and smooth. We could explore the city on foot from this location. We booked through American Express, which at the time was also the most affordable option. We'd definitely come back.

Communication was direct and capable through Whatsapp, and check-in and the other arrangements worked very well. I had a lovely room in the center of the old town, which made this a worthwhile short stay in the heart of Bologna. The room was quite dark, though, and the walls were thin enough that I could hear what was happening next door.

This was a nightmare for me: I found what I identified as a silverfish bug crawling on the wall at night, after spending an hour searching for it. Earlier, I had noticed blood-like marks on the dirty mattress cover and wanted to cancel. Reception returned and changed the sheet, saying it was clean. I tried to trust them, but I couldn't sleep after finding the bug and searched for another hotel. I ran away at 5am. This was a guesthouse, and the room wasn't in the condition I'd imagined. They are refusing to refund me and even overcharged me for a mistake I made by pressing the wrong button. I feel they took no responsibility. Booking.com isn't doing anything either.

The location was good and the price okay, but the walls are so thin you can hear full conversations from the next room. Our neighbours' alarm woke us, and the toilet and shower sounds were extremely loud and unpleasant, as if we were standing right beside them. The different wifi networks weren't working, and there was tape on the TV.
