Farolfi Apartments Rialto

The location was the only good part, so this gets one star because zero isn't an option. Check-in ran from 4:30 to 6:00 PM, and we had a 6:30 train to Casalecchio. We couldn't drop off our bags at the property, so we had to carry them around. One person was handling check-in and took half an hour or more for a single guest. People were packed outside on the sidewalk, with a bike lane running through them and cyclists at risk of hitting someone. When we finally reached the property, it smelled strongly of mold and the floor was dirty. The bathroom was shared between two rooms, and strangers who arrived before us had already left it filthy. We only used it when we had to. There was no toilet paper or waste bin, and the rooms had dirty sheets and yellowed pillows. A terrible stay. Avoid this place if you can.

The boiler started leaking on our second day, and there was no hot water. The boiler area was completely damp, so I doubt this was the first time. We messaged the owners because there was no way to call them, but got no reply. The beds were awful, and one didn't even have a blanket. For three nights, they left us just half a towel. There wasn't a bottle of water or any shampoo either. Those may seem like little things, but they say a lot about the attention given to the place. The place was basically a hole with a bed, and there was hardly any care put into its cleanliness. Check-in was delayed too, and everything about the three-night booking went wrong. I've never experienced anything like this. Don't book.

We paid 70 euros plus 6 euros in tourist tax, and didn't even get breakfast. I'd never seen an apartment so dirty, from the curtains to the shower, which I couldn't bring myself to touch. There was dust everywhere. The moment I walked in, the bleach smell mixed with the apartment's stench hit me so hard I felt faint, and I had to open all the windows. I found some cleaning products and cleaned the bed and bedside tables myself. I had my 12-year-old daughter with me. How could anyone put a little girl in a place like that? The owner said he doesn't accept the truth and gave us no discount. A traumatic stay. I'd rather sleep outside. Stay away, it's disgusting.

We stayed two nights, my children and I, in what had been sold to us as an apartment. It turned out to be a shabby, dirty studio, and the reception was poor. The bathroom and fridge made very loud draining noises. There was nowhere to leave our luggage when we departed late, and the neighbors and building manager harassed us. The manager even seemed to think we were intruders.
