That room door was a real worry. You had to pull it hard to make it lock, otherwise you could push it open without a key. After housekeeping had been in, it hadn't been shut properly either. We had no valuables with us, but it wasn't reassuring. The rest of our two-night stay at Hotel Brun was lovely. It's just around the corner from the city center and quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The hotel is clean and beautiful, with a lovely smell and almost a spa-like feel. Our room looked stylish and luxurious and was clean. Breakfast was delicious, with bread, yogurt, fruit and more to help yourself to, as well as a complimentary menu of fresh juices, coffee, tea and eggs made to order. The minibar was included once, with a few drinks and chips. We'd recommend it for a short city trip.

We had a great experience, and walked everywhere from this location near Piazza Maggiore, whether we were shopping, dining or sightseeing. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and they restocked the mini fridge every day. Breakfast was just right for me, especially the cappuccino and freshly squeezed orange juice. There isn't a huge selection, but what they offer is perfect. The front desk controls the room temperature, so we asked them to cool it down a couple of times. They were gracious and helpful, suggested places to eat and see, and booked a taxi for our departure.

The little touches really stood out. There was a card with my name in the room, and somehow my bags got there before I did. Those are the kinds of details I'd expect at a five-star hotel. The modern rooms were clean and very well kept, and the staff were amazing, friendly and always ready to help. The location is right in the center but still quiet. I hope they keep up this level of service and care. I'd absolutely recommend it and hope to return someday.

The bar area was completely empty, not a single person there besides the bar staff, but they still wouldn't serve coffee to anyone who wasn't staying at the hotel. Maybe that's understandable for a boutique hotel, but it was frustrating.

In beautiful Bologna, this hotel is exceptionally well located. The rooms and breakfast room feel warm and inviting, and the staff were helpful.
