A scam, in short. I left as soon as I saw the place. Now I just hope Booking.com gives my money back. They even charged me 10 euros for cleaning the room without telling me first. The worst.

We arrived to a closed door with no instructions. Someone buzzed us in remotely without saying anything, and upstairs there was another locked door. We were left in a corridor with nobody to help, and the only clue was a key in the lock of an empty room, which we assumed must be ours. The manager’s number posted on the door wasn’t assigned, so we headed to another hotel. There was no manager around, and anyone could get in without supervision. On top of that, they wouldn’t refund us.

There’s no reception or staff to let you in, so other guests end up doing it. You’re supposed to call the owner when you arrive, though his English isn’t very good. The spring mattress was badly worn and uncomfortable. He also seemed unsure which room numbers were in the Palazzo: he said 14, which belongs to another woman, while the rooms are actually 16 and 17.
