Sweet Home Sofia

The owner told me after I booked that the apartment wasn't available, then insisted I cancel the reservation. I assumed she wanted to avoid problems with Booking.com. When I wouldn't cancel, she phoned and threatened me: she said I might not find the apartment, and that my card would still be charged for the balance. The dates hadn't been closed by the owner, so this mistake was hers. I found the whole exchange completely unprofessional.

The bed was genuinely comfortable, and everything in the apartment was clean and well cared for. It's small, but has the comforts you need for up to four people, with a double bed and a sofa bed. There was heating, a shower, coffee machine, microwave, and washing machine. Shops and restaurants are only a few meters away. We stayed here while our daughter was in hospital at Villa Laura, about a five-minute drive away. It worked very well for our needs. The owners were friendly and helpful. Thank you!

We had a great stay in one of the two Sweet Home Sofia apartments. It was clean, air-conditioned, and well equipped, and the owner was kind and dealt with any issues. I'd recommend it. Two things kept me from giving five stars. Booking.com doesn't mention the €4 per person per night tourist tax, unlike other properties. Also, the arrival instructions aren't clear for less experienced travelers. It would help to explain on Booking.com, or by text or email the day before, that guests need to call the property for the code and other arrangements. If several people arrive in the stated time slot, someone may ring the bell at one of the apartments and disturb the others.

The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, and the apartment is only a short bus ride from the central station, under half an hour. There's an excellent piadineria just steps away. Inside, I found a really clean place, a well-equipped kitchen, and a very comfortable bathroom. The host was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it for work or leisure.
