Ugo Bassi Apartments

The kitchen's loud, annoying purring noise was hard to ignore, and the sewer smell when I entered the "Duomo" apartment was like a backed-up toilet. The management seemed casual about my complaints and offered earplugs. They said they couldn't come until Monday for a "technical review" because it was Saturday. The kitchen AC is the only unit for two large rooms, but it doesn't reach the bedroom, so I was freezing at night and wore a hoodie to bed. I'm trying to cancel my reservation so I can move somewhere more comfortable. I wouldn't book here.

The apartment was spacious, modern, and really lovely, with stunning views over one of Bologna's main streets. It was well designed and equipped with a lounge, kitchenette, washing machine, iron, hoover, and lots of storage. The blackout curtains worked brilliantly, and I loved the automatic windows. The location was ideal, close to the center and right next to a coop. We had a great time in September 2025 at the Duomo apartment. A few small things kept it from five stars. Some local tips from the host would have helped us enjoy the stay, and a heads-up about the train strike would've let us adjust our travel plans. They only provided toilet paper, soap, and shower gel for the first night, saying Italian laws meant we had to buy the rest ourselves. Other apartments we'd stayed in had supplied these, which seemed odd. There also wasn't much bathroom storage for toiletries and makeup, which was inconvenient.

We had a great two-night stay in April 2025 at the Montegrappa apartment. It's tastefully decorated and seems new, with everything we needed, including a washing machine. The location is excellent, near Bologna's main sights. Our host was responsive and flexible about check-in and check-out, and customer service let us leave our luggage for a couple of hours. Highly recommend.

It's a well-located serviced apartment with both a dishwasher and washing machine, which are nice extras. The clothes horse they provide is very small, though.
