Lido Camping Village

The pitches were a letdown: no privacy, no water nearby, and no bushes or grass. Still, the atmosphere was nice, and the other campers seemed friendlier than at other campsites. The shared areas felt almost like a resort, and the lakeside promenade, beaches and lovely plants made it feel like a real holiday village. One downside was an old man at reception who seemed very unpleasant, arrogant and angry. I got a really bad feeling from him.

We've been coming to this campsite for over 10 years and used to give it five stars. The location is still beautiful and the facilities are too, but dogs being allowed now is why I give it four. I love dogs, and have one at home, but I don't think they belong here. The nonstop barking clashes with the peaceful little paradise this place used to be. Dogs pee against trees and bushes and wet the paths. Some leashed ones bark at everyone passing, which scares some older people, and on some nights two dogs just keep barking back and forth. Maybe dogs should be allowed only in one part of the campsite.

There was a lot going for this place, though I'd call it about three and a half stars. The location was great, and the toilets, showers, laundry and washing-up area were super clean. It wasn't busy when we visited, so the pitch size seemed fine. Still, €30 for a pitch with better power felt a bit much, especially since plugging in tripped the circuits. There was no soap or toilet paper, showers cost €1, and the first shower I chose didn't work. The pool is big, but it was closed during our stay.

We had a great time here in September and would definitely return if we're back in the area. The campsite is lovely, whatever the one-star reviews below say. The pitches are spacious and shady, it's right by the lake with a great view from our pitch, and it was very quiet at night. Staff were helpful and really nice. The sanitary facilities are excellent: clean and roomy, plenty of toilets, sinks and showers, great showers, hot water all day and even background music. Two things could make it more comfortable: water taps around the campground and soap in the sanitary building. Thanks, team Lido, for a great stay 🏕
